Ordered new jerseys for everyone. For IVP team we are using this jersey for IVP.
It's $20 per person. And $10 for camp.

Total cost = $30 (please pass it to Siti on Saturday or During camp)

Attendance - Very bad attendence again for the past few trainings. Please be self discipline and come down for trainings.
There will be training on Saturday 29th December 9am in School. Don't be late huh.

Please please check your RP webmail this weekend for camp updates like PackingList and Schedule. Since our afternoon trainings will be outside of school. Bring enough change of clothes as we will only bathe when we come back to school at 7pm.

Some important addition to the packing list. Will update along in the email too

-Since the ice bath is gonna be in public, you will need your team tobring along a big towel

Match against NUS boys this Tuesday 18th December

Time: 7am
Venue: Riverside Secondary School
Attendance: EVERYBODY is to come, compulsory. Attendance will be reverted back to boo.

Saturday's training once again.. 9 people turned up.. please, help yourselves out. The turnout for training, what can we do to change this?

This is from Boo:

1. I want full attendance for every session till IVP. I need to teach stuff. If you dont learn, you are dropped. (This includes, beign punctual for training)

2. Send Su a sms with your attendance and arrival time for Tuesday (and also the subsequent trainings, every training)

3. I suggest a wake up call among the team for the next 3 weeks (friends, team mates you know what to do)

JUST A FEW TRAINING SESSIONS LEFT TO IVP. START COMING FOR TRAININGS.

I know we can do well in the tournament, its just a matter of how much we want to win it, starting from appearing for training sessions punctually and putting our minds into the game for these few opportunities we have to learn.

I dont want to keep nagging about this (attendance, slippers, discipline, messaging about not coming for training), but if there is no change in these areas, I will keep pushing the team for a change alright, its for our own good. We can do this and reap the good benefits =)

26 DAYS LEFT TO IVP

Note to team:
We do not have a field
We are short of time into learning new moves and perfecting them as a team
We are still in need to work on our fitness

AND

We just got banned for using slippers to school.

This would be the third strike to our team in getting caught for wearing slippers. You all know the consequences for that. Boo and Sabrina are not pleased with what had happened, we had one last chance to avoid what we wish wouldnt happen yet with teammates being ignorant towards school rules and disregarding instructions, it brought us to this. We have officially been banned.

Remember the 5km that we had to run?
Remember the steps that we had to do and the slopes?
Everyone was so tired and swearing and reminding themselves, "This is because we were banned. Girls remember dont wear slippers, you dont want to do this again. Make this the last time."

That is what happens, we remind each other yet our words can only go so far. The rest is up to you, individually. Words are just words if you dont act upon it. Self discipline for the better of the team is very crucial considering our short comings just before IVP. With no field, fitness, learning and trying to perfect set plays, D F G.

Little things that are avoidable like just to NOT wear slippers can really help the team. Think about it. Its too late to regret because it has already happened. So this time, we have to face the music and complains would just be pointless and we have to do it as a team.

IVP is near, do spare a thought for Boo, after she has planned so much for the team and the weather isnt to our favour at all. So with that it dampens her training objectives everytime it rains and when our training times and things that we are supposed to learn are cut short. It doesnt affect her, it would affect us and how far we achieve in the future. She is doing it for the team because she believes in our potential, we should do it for ourselves too. It takes two hands to clap alright? We have to make use of the little opportunities we get like a sunny day to train properly for once.

Our actions, reflects back on the team, on us being ill disciplined and players lacking the commitment towards trainings, especially to our coach and advisor.

We have to show Boo and Sabrina that we are not what they think we are. Do you think we are prepared for IVP?

So think about it:

Do you want to work hard for the team and push yourself for IVP and the new year to come?
Or do you want to take this lightly and just act indifferent towards instructions and not be focused towards being better players and being a better team?

Let me know. And responses will be accounted for.
STOP WEARING SLIPPERS TO SCHOOL.

Sabrina is very disappointed with the horrible attendence and the commitment level of the team. She say she'll cancel trainings(as in field rugby training) if the attendence is that bad. So let this be the last time for the poor attendence.

Every training is crucial and important, be it physical or field training. So please step up your commitment level and attend trainings. Let's be discipline and stay out of trouble. Being disciplined also starts from handing up things on time.

Disappointing

Seriously.

Today's turnout for fitness was upsetting, 9 people attended. 9 out of how many of you? Especially the year twos and ones. The year threes made the effort to come down for this training amidst their FYP work (Even on a wednesday when they had no school, they came down specially for this) and most of those who didnt come, had excuses, you know who you are, excuses.

Social reasons to do something else in the day?

Where were those who said they'd come and didnt turn up? Even if you are sick, you should be there for the physical training (from sabrina)

Those who came:

Bel
Agnes
Narene
Su
Wathone
Sophie
Chu
Efy
Faezah

Although the week appears to be so tiring, when you get to doing the fitness, it ends very quickly with your team mates to push you on, "one more set one more set". This fitness is for the benefit of the team, especially the younger ones, because you would be the one to step up into the seniors shoes, so year twos, no more reasons to skip and please try to make the effort to come.

Everyone, we all know how much we have to work towards IVP and yet none of us are making the effort. It tells alot that the self discipline already lacks in all of us, but we just have to push ourselves, starting from having a strong commitment towards working towards IVP that is just next month, note, early next month, be it varsity team or junior varsity team.

For the poor attendance from today, we'll have to face the consequences as a team the next training.

Start coming for training and friendlies, even if it means, disregarding your social life for a while, we have to make do with what we can now, knowing that the tournament we're training for is coming up real soon.

Please reflect on this, those not coming, should really let me know, with a reason. I've been saying this over and over and it gets frustrating, when only a handful decide to inform me and the rest just disappear.

The next beach touch, I hope the year ones can join too and get your feet burnt.

Here are some pictures:
Attendance log, as from Saturday's session/ This week's agenda

This is what we did

1. 40m sprint
1 timer at 10m mark. 1 timer at 40m mark. Take down 10m timing and 40m timing.
They have the option of doing 2 runs, we'll take the best run.

2. Defence agility
back 5m, shuffle right for 5m, and then reverse direction til you end up where you started. Timing is between touches on the 'attacker'.
Repeat same thing for shuffle left.
option of doing 2 runs, we'll take the best run.

3. Glycolitic agility- option of doing 2 runs, we'll take the best run.
up 10 back 5 x 3
shuffle right 5m
up 10 back 5 x 3
up 10 and shuffle right 5m
Turn to right and sprint diagonally for 35m
Turn to left and sprint diagonally for 5m
up 15 back 5
sprint up 20m to finish.

4. Speed endurance
Start cone to 'scoring' cones are 36m apart.
'Scoring' cones are lined out over 20m, each cone is spaced 2m apart.
You must give the 'go' command at 0sec, count 7sec.. the 7s point is when scorer notes how many cones the runner has covered. Remember its the cone that was last passed that is the score.
Basically each 30-sec is a 'go' command, and 7sec after the 'go' is the score.
Give the runners a 5 sec count down before the 'go', make sure they don't move until the 'go', and they should start from the start line.
After 7s, they have 23 s to reach the next start line.

DONT WEAR SLIPPERS TO SCHOOL!!

I need fabulous.
Okay people, let's take in a breather and enjoy Eunice's post. Because I have a long post for you guys too. When I received an sms from Eunice asking for blog password, I quite expected a long post but not this long lah.

Anyway ANYONE can post on the blog okay including year ones. It's Free of Charge, but you're welcomed to pay. Ask the seniors for username and password. You can say anything you want. Posting pictures, saying something funny or encouragement letters.

Here's the match report although it's not as funny as the boys' blog report because we practice professionalism and we do not include explicit content. HAHAHA

Girls’ Touch Triumph over double winnings on NUS 6v6 Touch’07.

On a Sunday, 21st October 2007, Team Republic sent two Touch Rugby Girls’ Teams, comprising of seniors and juniors who are great enthusiastic to the sport, to participate in the NUS 6v6 Women Touch Carnival 2007.

The teams consisted of:

RP Pixies – Annabel Woo Xue Ni Bernadette, Narene Yong, Suryanti Suryono, Siti NurAzyan, Laura Ann, Cheryl Ann, Kylie Yong Su Mei and Khoo Min Hui led by Dilys Goh Xiu Lin
RP Phoenix – Eunice Ng Yee Yong, Agnes Wijaya, Yong Shan Ning, Cheryl Choy Li Yun, Koh HuiMin, Denise Ang Hui Min, Eunice Chu Jia Hui, Claudia Jeanette and Zarifah Bte Zulkifli led by Ma Aye Wathone Oo.
Both teams met competitive and strong opponent teams from National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Temasek Polytechnic (TP), Raffles Junior College (RJC) and more. With more wins than losses, both teams qualified for the Semi-Finals.

RP Pixies met NUS in the Semi-Finals and with a draw; and they played a drop off game. With great playmaking skills, teamwork and a double team by Suryanti Suryono and Annabel Woo created an opportunity for Annabel Woo to have the winning try that put RP Pixies into the finals. While RP Phoenix met arch rival TP in the Semi-Finals, with great desire and determination to win that important match, the team played really well and Ma Aye Wathone Oo scored at the last minute.

“After Su passed me the ball, I ran for my life because I really wanted to beat NUS,” said Annabel Woo, after that spectacular run to the try-line.

So RP Pixies and RP Phoenix met in the Finals. With no hard feelings, both teams played at their best and Koh HuiMin brought a try to RP Phoenix giving them the lead. The final whistle was blown and RP Phoenix emerged as Champions followed by RP Pixies as 1st Runner-Up.

Wiping off the medals on the table, the girls were triumph over their double winnings on NUS 6v6 Touch’07. This carnival had brought both teams experience and a higher level of game play; also it was a preparation to our upcoming IVP. It was also a great exposure to our juniors.

Final Standings
Champions – RP Phoenix
1st Runner Up – RP Pixies
2nd Runner Up – NUS

Written By: Ma Aye Wathone Oo (SIT) and Suryanti Suryono (SAS).

Lots of Love Wathone
Hey girls. Just wanted to do a debrief here since I had to leave so fast that day.

I feel that every competition that we go for, we get closer as a team. Similar for this one, we went through so much together.

Girls, you really played so awesome that bel and I are so proud of you. Everyone is truly stepping up and we’re really starting to play as a team.
This nus comp really said it all. We finally beat/drew with tp, we broke them down, we beat our most “feared” competitor. Does this mean we are the best? FEARED? Jokes! Everyone’s our competitor la. There’s no, most scary one, more whatever one
But hey we proved something to everyone, that we didn’t let NUS and NTU win this time round, as much as it wasn’t their complete most powerful team, I’m glad we made full use of that.

WE WON GOLD AND SILVER!!!!!!!!!

I just love to see how much the team means to you. I see shan and agnes encouraging each other, I see Eunice chu and huimin playing their best.
And I hope you know refs can be a big issue in our scores, you saw how pissed off I was, and I would never shout at a ref. trust me, I was this close to shouting at her. I held back so much it made me feel like a loser. Haha, I suck in my pride a hell lot. But hey, see what it did for us, instead of taking it out on her, we went to the management to change refs. So peaceful, there wasn’t any arguments, and things went our way so much better!
Haha too bad she went to BEL’S TEAM!! WAHAHAHHA.

Then damn funny. Bel saw a forward pass and told the ref called wenhui, and she didn’t call it. After the game, wenhui said “it’s a lateral pass”. JOKES! Then bel said softly but loud enough for her to hear, “ eh….wah no wonder they change refs.” I laugh like mad.

You know, even though we were in two different teams, I like the enthusiasm when we all came back together after both matches and starting bitching about the match, or saying what was good. Wa if u guys really observe, hahah it really says a lot. These are the little things which really brings us together. And its really nice to see everyone being so excited about a score, how we tell each other how well we did, or how the opponent team did. Damn it really makes me feel playing for this team is so damn worth it. It makes me feel proud to be part of this team.
RP pixies/phoenix.

For my team, I felt that you couldn’t have played any better. If you noticed how we progressed from the first to the last match, yeah we weren’t playing at our pace for the first match, which only caused us to win 1 against RJC. What jokes, we wasted so many tries, plus the lousy ref. but we picked it up for team temasek. I could see you really working hard this time round. You could see us really exploiting the gaps. Wa I love wathone la. She was damn lazy to run, so she assisted two damn nice tries by zarifah and Claudia!!! Wah really pat on the back. Claudia’s split was damn nice, followed by a dive, and zarifah just run only. You see all this sprouting year 1s. all the year 1s are sprouting alright, that’ll always be one thing that you do in the game that would really show that. And wathone’s vision you saw, is improving tremendously! Well done! And I love shan’s and en’s runs. Agnes’s fakes and encourgement, what would I do without her. chu’s superb defense and denise’s eagerness to defend her hardest, yes I really noticed that.wah now I mention huimin. Our tool for scoring. Huimin’s attack is really good. I love her support and how she’s clear about what she wants to do. She nearly scored on her own once sia! Really damn nice, but tough luck it wasn’t called a try. I can really trust to pass the ball to her at the wing to score. Well done year 1s!!!!

I always always always emphasized on how important encouragement is in a team. And I saw a lot of encouragement during our games. It’s perfect. It makes me want to fight harder than I already am. It pushes me to push myself to the limit. Whatever mistakes we have, yes you mention it positively, but don’t forget to mention the things that we’ve done well ok!

And I would really like to apologize to Eunice chu for shouting at her on the field. Urg I really felt like slapping myself. Im sorry to whoever I shouted at on the field also. Really uncalled for me, I know I suck la as a vice captain, but, haha I’m learning.

I would like to mention the issue about wathone and shan. I’m sure everyone knows what happened. Huimin told me after they made up “ wa I love to see best friends fight and then hug and get back together”
That made me agree with her, and I just thought to myself. These things are what build a friendship. You have to have an argument to make things better. Nothing is perfect, but yet you understand each other better. THE WORST thing is really to bitch about each other behind each other’s backs la. I mean if you bitch about a certain someone that you’re not close with, (narene would know who im talking about) it’s totally fine. But why bitch about a close friend? The friendship becomes superficial. Seriously, shout it out at each like…like wathone..wa power pack
“ SHAN YOU FUCKING BITCH!” hahah power sia. Then in the end you see tears in both their eyes, and they’re walking back beside each other. When I saw that, I was relieved, and really really happy. Yes they had a bad argument, shouted at each other, but they sat out and really talked it out, you saw the tears they shed and you see them laughing all over again. Now that, was priceless for me to see.

Girls, whatever you have against close friends in the team, it’s really better to say it out and solve it like such situations rather than bitching and keeping it to yourself. It just shows what kind of person you are. If you were to bitch about your own bestfriend, who would want to be your friend knowing you even bitch about your own best friend? Think about it.
That’s why I admire shan and wathone for handling things the way they did that day.
Year 1s have a lot to learn from this. Because I don’t want to see such things happening in the team after I leave. It’ll be damn sad for me. I hate for conflicts in the team.

K next. The match between each other.
I hope you guys didn’t see it as a competition between each other on who’s the better team. Hey, it’s really not about it. The whole point of playing each other, was really about playing your best be it against whatever team, and not playing your best because you want to win your team mates to show who’s the better one. That’s childish.
Whoever you’re playing, you should play the same. Okay?
Similar to rp cup, girls its not about who’s the better team. And I believe you guys are matured enough to think that way.
Oh by the way, bel’s team had damn good attack. My team was discussing because you guys were really working hard to score, but my team, just wanted to hold you guys down and we concentrated a lot on defense. But if you notice our attacks, it was really nothing. We weren’t trying anything at all. Haha opps. Okay well done everyone.

Well, girls, you all really have great potential. You just have to be willing to learn and be able to accept your flaws and learn from it. Yes this year, next day, following year, we all have a chance to win polite. No doubt about that. When bel,me,narene, agnes leave, you guys are on your own, and we will always believe in you.

Oh yea, it was damn worth it to stay on and be late for work. I really felt it was all worth it to see how we played against each other. The fire and eagerness. Priceless feeling. And thanks to wathone and agnes for saying thanks that I stayed! Haha I know it’s damn formal la, but it made me feel a hell lot better and that it was all worth it.hahaha. k la.

Okay I busted my knee. It hurts when I walk. But hey nothing’s gonna stop me from playing RP CUP!

Okay love you guys a fucking lot.
I believe in every single one of you. So start believing in your ownself.

your most sucky talk alot of cock EX vice-captain,

Salute, Captain.

When a team's captain sits on the toiletbowl and gives you thumbs-up, you watch and learn. Reason being: she is the captain and she is capable of leading. As I am writing this, I am facing the vast green field. Well, not really green but a little too much soil, wet puddles and bare patches.

It reminds me of how I first met Miss Annabel. She was a chubby girl who overgrown her tiny jersey and hot shorts, running amock on the field with her strikingly golden ponytail. I expected her patience to dig it's grave when she guides the juniors on the field because she looked like she has the temper of a cow which I terribly mistook. Because of her, I learn not to judge a person's temper and patience by her size. She did not have a temper of a cow. Does cows get angry?

Not only does she has a god blessed temper, she can magically squeeze through gaps during matches which makes her supporters go Wow, maybe the fat people shouldn't go on a diet because they can squeeze through micro gaps. So kEwLzzz! She is the bravest girl because she isn't shy of her jelly fats on her stomach at the beach. They say flaunt what you have and she fully utilizes the sentence. She does her rumba-rumba on the sand, think hawaii and beach huts.

Apart from her glorious days on the field, she has a pretty exciting love life. I heard she shelved 20 people who tried to woo her. No wonder her surname is Woo, she lives up to it. From my research, skinny girls who use bus tickets as their blankets managed to shelve 20 boys in one year but she managed to shelve 20within one month. She is a heartbreaker, surprisingly.

Talking about the captain makes me tear so much, I want to stop writing here but she does reminds me of the black momma in Norbit.

Stay, watch the freak performance.

Recently, we have 4 girls imported from the elite schools to come play rugby for Republic Polytechnic Touch Rugby team. If you realized, they have eyes and eyebrows which guys would die for and girls would kill for. They're joining you for training on Thursday so remember, be nice and tell them that they're sexy. If they try making friends with you, don't ever reject them.

The girl in pink is called Sally and she likes to flank her arms. Beside her is Susan and acting cute to get away with trouble is her profession. Suzanne is the girl holding the pink ipod and screaming is her talent. Lastly, Snazzy is the last girl's name and she recently broke her finger while trying to pleasure herself 10 nights back.

Do not be plastique to them tomorrow, smile from your heart.

Girls just want to have fun.

The more we jumped, the more we tumbled and the more we lost our minds.

After so much whining about how the heat can kill anyone with heatstroke(actually i'm the only one who whined but nevermind), we found ourselves at the giant trampoline flying all around the enclosed area. So exciting you thought but not really when you have 4 of your friends with you which made 5 of you end up looking like people who lost their minds with arms flying all over.

If you want to look glam, don't stand beside Su because when she keeps jumping, she forgot where her brakes are. When she wanted to brake, she crashed straight into Siti from the front which looked like how the WWF wrestlers would bring their opponent down. Rock in the making. Next, she pulled my shirt and pulled me down when she fell. Wathone would be the first one who falls all the time then you'll see her skinny arms flanking all over the place. Her arms are so long, they occupy so much space and I felt like stepping on them to break them. Siti would be in her own world, either sitting or lying and she would hyperventilate, do excessive screaming and laughing. Nobody cared about her because we know she's relieving her childhood. Kaile would be so hysterically happy that she's the only one who didn't fall. To top it off, she would start screaming and choking.

So here, monkeys.

So after everything, I had to go grocery shopping at Giant but I don't know why I had one animal in my trolley which resulted in the spoilt wheels of the trolley. Sorry, don't look at my fake bag but that's cool that's cool.

A gentle reminder. The next time anyone attempts to be on the trampoline, please shave your armpit hair because when you get excited, you will start screaming and lifting your arms up which I think is a balancing act but you won't want passerby(s) to get excitedly shocked when they see thick bushy armpit hair emerging. If you're fat, don't try the trampoline. No, I didn't say Bel. You must be so skinny till the extend of using a bus ticket as your blanket.

Omg, sometimes I wish I had a handsome boy jumping naked on the trampoline with me.

Great job ladies!

Hey ladies, heard about the heart stopping game against SP today - CONGRATS! Sorry cldnt make it as i was stuck in office until 8pm and missed my training as well. :( Been really caught up with work due to the PM's Visit - will definately try to rush down tmr after my meeting *keeping my fingers crossed it ends early!*

Anyway, tmr's crunch time and in all instances:

Expecting another wet day, wet ball so remember let's have good hands, easy passes and possession of ball.

Ok, dont want to be so naggy liaos. Have a good rest, eat well, have fun, play well, make this your best game and give it your all! I believe in every single one of you. :)
